Panic attacks can be treated in most instances through a self-help approach or certainly you can attempt to use a good self-help program and a support group for the difficult times for your anxiety bouts.  You would do yourself no harm, if you used a good book, like “Overcoming Anxiety for Dummies” or a well designed self-help program such as Panic Away to start off.  If these don’t work then you can take yourself to a professional, such as, a medical practitioner, psychologist (provided they are CBT trained) or psychiatrist),

  2. Your entire day if filled with anxiety and depression with no let-up
  3. Tried a good self-help approach for a few months and have had no success or are getting worse
  4. Suffer from severe obsessions and/or compulsions
  5. Have had countless nights and weeks of not being able to sleep
